El Questro

Durack Boab Tree - they have carved their names in it Durack Tree Brancos lookout The very expensive Homestead Resort           Well we stayed another night and just as well we did because we saved the best till last. I won't be able to put all the photos up, but we went 4wd to 3 lookouts and the views were amazingly out of the world. After 2 black eyes (from the very rocky creek bed tracks) it was certainly worth it. I also took photos of the Durack Boab tree. Its significance, I will find out when I get home. The buildings on the cliff face is the 'exclusive resort up to $5000/night. We a got back to camp and went for a swim. Saw a little baby brown snake in the water. Then I did more hand washing and we all had a relax. Up early tomorrow morning to start out trek to the Bungle Bungles.

El Questro

We are tossing up whether to stay another day or not as there is so much to see and such a beautiful camp. We got up at 7ish and drove to zebedee springs which are hot springs. Heaps of people there. It is only open from 7-12 as the rich and famous from the el Questro resort (which you can only access by helicopter $5000/night) have it exclusively in the afternoon. After a nice dip we then drove onto the el Questro gorge. A very rocky walk in. I decided to stay back at the car as my ankle (from my fall over the border) didn't feel stable enough. Yoges took lots of nice photos and they had another 'invigorating ' dip at the end. (2hr round trip walk) We then drove onto moonshine gorge and just walked the little way into the gorge and had another 'invigorating' swim. There is a 5km round trip walk but we just did the swim and left. Back to camp where we had lunch and a rest. Donsy and I decided to do some hand washing and we may go for a swim this arvo

Lake argyle - El Questro

We left at 8.30am Lake Argyle for the short drive to El Questro (2-3hrs) after fuelling up in Kunnanurra. After turning onto the Gibb River Road we came across the turn off to El Questro which was quite dusty and signs saying to turn our lights on for visibility to other cars. We arrived at El Questro at about 10.30. We were lucky enough to get some spots on the Pentecost river which runs through the park. It is crocodile free (so they tell us) crystal clear and very invigorating. The park is pretty full and lots are parked in full sun. The cockatoos are very loud as are the odd crow. our neighbour was overheard to say 'wish I'd brought my 410'. Our solar panels are covered in bird poo. We had a lazy arvo which was really nice. Swim in the river and just relaxing. Tomorrow we'll go on a few walks and check the area out. There's lots of gorges to see here.

Lake Argyle

We had a lovely day at Lake Argyle and went into Kunnanurra to get supplies (bolt for camper) and battery holder. Plus groceries. We also went to the Ord River Rum Distillery and found out Jim and Phillipa Fletchers son Matt is married to the owners daughter. Karl rang his wife and we may catch up tomorrow with him. We also went to the Sandlewood gift shop and bought some goodies. This is also in the Ord River scheme cropping country and the boys were interested in that. Big Chia farming country up here. We then went for a drive down to the Dam wall and took some spectacular photos of the water. Just amazed us that we could only see a minute part of this huge lake. The biggest man made lake in Australia. It also is amazing that the dam wall is so small and is holding back all that water. We came back to the camp at 3.30 and had a very late lunch and then went for a swim in the 'infinity pool' (which means it feels like you're swimming on the edge of a cliff. One m
