Day 7

We left Delhunty River camp at around 8.30 and knew we were headed towards Gunshot crossing shortly. 😮.
The The landscape is amazing through here today. From forests of gums to flowering grevillea's everywhere and then a couple of 'forests' of blackboy trees. Just beautiful. We hit gunshot at about 10.30 and after looking at the crazy crossing (photos of) we took the chicken track. Karl went through first then got in the muddy water and guided us through. Was easier than Palm Creek!!! At one of the crossings yogi was busy looking at karl and 'bang' ran into a little tree 😜😜. Just a scrape on the bullbar. We stopped at the grave of WJ Smith who was a maintenance man of the Telegraph Track and died in 1945. Lonely job! We stopped at Fruit Bat Falls - amazing place. Had a refreshing swim and on the road towards Elliot and twin falls. Just went in for a walk, but didn't swim. Had lunch in the car park and then headed towards our destination of Sam Creek. We crossed canal creek which was a bit 'how ya going' and then stopped at Sam Creek at about 3pm. We had a drink and nibbles then all went to Karl's 'secret spot' and had a bath under a waterfall. Someone has carved little shelves into the rock and fitted our soap and shampoo nicely. Have come back to camp and are starting the fire and tea! Leaving here around 9am tomorrow morning.
