Day 4

We left Pete and Jason's at around 10.30. Karl went to the airport to pick Donna up and we were to meet them at the last shopping Ctr out of town - with a Dan Murphys!!!!

Well turned out the Pedlers weren't far enough out of town and we did our shopping elsewhere. Had some lunch and picked up the last essentials up. After we drove out of shopping Ctr we spoke to Karl who was about to leave their shopping Ctr. He told us which road to take and we'd meet up in Mareeba. Well, total confusion, because at this stage we still thought we were ahead of them!! Lol hahaha. Then, we thought we were on the wrong road - so did they. By the time we hit the range they were talking about they were in Mareeba waiting! Then we went to the wrong park!!!!! 😜😜😜😜. All good, we finally all met up and were on our way. We eventually pulled up at Lakeland caravan park at 5.30. They have 30 backpackers staying there and a few sites for tourists. The backpackers work on the surrounding banana and tobacco farms. $10/per person per night. Not too bad! Had tea and tucked up in bed by 9pm.

Just left the beautiful Adels grove, where co-indecently we had a drink with Pete Frith and Roger and Di Lyne. Jan was cooking their tea. Drove on the Savannah Way to Doomagee and did a drive through and we are now on our way to Hells Gate. Meaghans birthday today and she's ordered pizza , yogis syrup dumplings with cream n custard! Not bad for a bush camp feed. I've bought a packet choc cake and directions say mix on low for 3 mins then on high. I figure, I'll be low speed and Jodie can be high speed!!!!!! Hahaha.

Day 10

Today the we split from the group and head into Darwin a day earlier than everyone. Catch up with my brother and his family. The camp we are in now is gorgeous. Green grass! Brad is in heaven. We all are. Red dirt is overrated we've decided. I took this photo from bed. What a view!
