We're off!

Departure time 3.20pm. Not too bad considering we were aiming for 1pm!!! Hahaha
Anyway, on the road, that's all that counts!

Day in Darwin

The boys (Yoges, Brad and Karl) went out on a fishing charter today while the rest of the crew (less Elisha) went shopping, had lunch in town and spent the afternoon down at the Waterfront relaxing on the green grass in the shade and swimming in the lagoon. Zac and Tom had fun in the wave pool. Karl, Donna, George and the Taylor clan went out for dinner at a Seafood and Steakhouse all you can eat smorgasbord which was absolutely beautiful down on the water.

Lawn hill adels grove

Today we woke up, had a slow morning and went for a drive to Lawn Hill. We are doing a boat ride down the gorge tomorrow morning. The boys went for a walk to the gorge, but as I had done it a few years back, I waited back at the water.  We came back to camp at lunch time and the boys went for a swim after lunch and Sue-Ellen and I went for a nanna.  We woke up about 3 and then we went for a swim in extremely invigorating water. Was cold but worth it.  I had cooked a beef stew in the thermos cooker so tea didn't have to be cooked. We ate that and the boys and Sue-Ellen are going up to the cafe to watch State of Origin.  Up early tomorrow to pack up and go for boat ride then come back and grab our vans and head to Leichhardt Falls for a bush camp tomorrow night.  -- Regards Elisha

Matilda centre - Winton

Such a blow for this town with the Matilda Centre burning down and a shame for the tourists. Visited it about 5 years ago and enjoyed it more than the Longreach Hall of Fame. Amazingly, can still smell the smoke. Taylor's are visiting the Hall of Fame and catching up tonight.
