Road from Winton to Kynuna


Early start this morning at the Winton Caravan park. Camp Rooster (Brad) woke us up at 4.45am. After jump starting the Yoge-mobile, we got away at 6am.

Saw a lot of carnage on the road, and figured we won't go hungry if we run out of meat. Although Jodie assures us, she's got enough. We stopped at Kynuna Roadhouse for a pit stop and the cool breeze nearly goes straight through you.

Karl was talking to two young fellows in a white car who had driven from Darwin yesterday and aim to be in Brisbane tonight!!! They assured us it's much warmer in Darwin - Bring it on.

We should be in Mt Isa by 11ish.

The country in places is just bare dirt, not a tuft of grass. Yet other paddocks have basic coverage of grass. It would appear to be the different management types.

Just left the beautiful Adels grove, where co-indecently we had a drink with Pete Frith and Roger and Di Lyne. Jan was cooking their tea. Drove on the Savannah Way to Doomagee and did a drive through and we are now on our way to Hells Gate. Meaghans birthday today and she's ordered pizza , yogis syrup dumplings with cream n custard! Not bad for a bush camp feed. I've bought a packet choc cake and directions say mix on low for 3 mins then on high. I figure, I'll be low speed and Jodie can be high speed!!!!!! Hahaha.

Day 10

Today the we split from the group and head into Darwin a day earlier than everyone. Catch up with my brother and his family. The camp we are in now is gorgeous. Green grass! Brad is in heaven. We all are. Red dirt is overrated we've decided. I took this photo from bed. What a view!
