Left Capella at 9am. Went to Clermont and fuelled up @127.0 c/ltr. Drove on and decided we wouldn't get to cairns tonight.
Lots of chickpeas around Kilcummin area. The land around Charters looks just gorgeous. Green and lush. All the little dams are full which is nice to see compared to the last time we came through and it was smack bang in the middle of a drought.
Decided to stay at Rollingstone Big 4 (northern beaches pinnacles).
We stopped on the side of the road before charters towers and had some lunch. Amazing the difference it is to have everything at your fingertips.
We arrived at big 4 at 4.30 and was sitting down enjoying a drink within 20mins. Awning and all.
On to cairns tomorrow!

We left our beautiful camp at Rollingstone Beach Resort Big 4 at about 10am. I got up for a wee walk at 6 and got a nice photo of the sunrise with the evening star still visible. Driving through a lot of beautiful mountains with pockets of sugar cane, banana plantations and pineapples. The sugarcane was flowering in places and just looks amazing. Like a ornamental grass with tufts of soft looking flowers on top. We stopped for a few minutes and checked out the Hinchinbrook lookout. Drove out and back into the Bruce highway and passed Yogis brother-in-law Brett in his truck. Had a chat on the two way with him. We drove through so many little towns and villages which look so gorgeous with their mandatory pubs. Such a beautiful part of the world. We arrived at Karl's sisters place at Gordonvale at about 1.45. After setting up, having some lunch we went for a drive to the Yarrabah WWII bunkers called False Cape. Here's a link to the story behind them ...
