Forget which day!

We've had a great couple of days in Litchfield. We (pedlers) lost the others and caught up with McVeighs for a night. Went walking through to gorges. What a sight they. It's a beautiful part of the world up here. Having 33 degree days and nice warm nights. Not looking forward to going back to the cold.

We stopped and had some lunch then went through the Mcinlay pub. This is the pub that featured in Crocodile Dundee. While we were having lunch on the side of the road we had Hawks circling above us. Dove a couple of times so we through some bread to them. One of the photos you can see one perched above Karl and Donna on the power line above them.

wrapping cutlery drawer in glad wrap to dust proof and stop cutlery ending up everywhere. oopsy daisy! driver was fine Tobermory Station We were packing up on our bush camp this morning on the Arthur Creek when choppers started flying over for their muster. Then we had a visit from John and Marg Speed and their daughter in law for a cup of tea. Was really interesting to talk to them. They weren't having much success in the muster as the cattle were being difficult. He said that in their country on this side of the creek the Gidgea tree sucks up the limestone in the Georgina basin and their leaves become poisonous equivalent to the poison 1080. This only happens in certain times of the year and pRticularly dangerous during drought as the cattle eat the foliage because there is no grass. Luckily they have a bit of grass growing as they've had some rain. We left and called into Tobermorey station and got some fuel. The Speeds also own this ...

Jasper gorge to limestone gorge

We left our lovely little camp at Jasper gorge and decided to head towards Bulita Homestead. The drive was pretty non- descript but the weather beautiful and warm. When we got to the campground at Bulita we pretty much turned our noses up and thought there's got to be something better. So we had a look around at the homestead (which was really just a cottage), read the stories and after speaking to the ranger decided to go to Limestone Gorge to camp. The roads are extremely dusty and in surprisingly nothing in the back of the ute, but the cutlery draw was terrible. I had the bright idea of wrapping the cutlery tray in glad wrap to stop them dancing around in the drawer and getting in underneath. - IT WORKED! The boab trees are amazing, growing out of the rocks and cliff faces. The little creeks are lined with pandanus palms and the bird life prolific. The drive into the campground was very 'how-ya-goin'!
