Day 5

We left Lakeland caravan park at 8.30 after a leisurely morning. Drove past tobacco plantations and yoges wanted to pull over. Also many bananas growing as well. We stopped Hann River roadhouse and was greeted with their guard dog - emu. Donsy got an ice lock and we able to use the loos as we had bought something!!! We stopped at Musgrave River Roadhouse and fuelled up and made some lunch. Karl checked his wheel bearing and adjusted it. We stopped at Coen for a wee stop and an ice block. Back on the road for another few hours and started talking about where to camp. We followed a little track at Rocky creek which we found on WikiCamps - but decided it wasn't big enough. We travelled on to Moreton Telegraph station caravan park and they are keeping the generator running until the State of Origin is over!!!! When we pulled up we discovered our camper hasn't been charging as we drove along and only had 10% power left in the camper! Yoges started Karl's generator...

We left Delhunty River camp at around 8.30 and knew we were headed towards Gunshot crossing shortly. 😮. The The landscape is amazing through here today. From forests of gums to flowering grevillea's everywhere and then a couple of 'forests' of blackboy trees. Just beautiful. We hit gunshot at about 10.30 and after looking at the crazy crossing (photos of) we took the chicken track. Karl went through first then got in the muddy water and guided us through. Was easier than Palm Creek!!! At one of the crossings yogi was busy looking at karl and 'bang' ran into a little tree 😜😜. Just a scrape on the bullbar. We stopped at the grave of WJ Smith who was a maintenance man of the Telegraph Track and died in 1945. Lonely job! We stopped at Fruit Bat Falls - amazing place. Had a refreshing swim and on the road towards Elliot and twin falls. Just went in for a walk, but didn't swim. Had...
